Grandmother Mountain is the motherlode of Boone bouldering. Hundreds of boulders litter the sides of Grandmother and the bouldering is as diverse as you can imagine. The only drawback to bouldering in the Boone high country is the short climbing season. Grandmother is a sauna during the summer and covered in ice and snow during the winter.

If you are in Boone, though, you must make the steep trudge up Grandmother and sample the heavenly boulders: smack slopers on "Grope the Pope", swing around on the "Mighty Mouse" roof, crimp down on "Hot Rod" ...
