Rocktown, GA: The biggest, steepest, and baddest boulderfield in the Southeast. The scene at Rocktown is pure energy. Climbers from all over the world converge on Pigeon Mountain to test their skills against the most powerful problems the South has to offer.
Roof problems are the core of the Rocktown experience, from fun jug hauls like "Double Trouble" to the fiendishly crimpy testpieces like "The Womb" and "Nitrous Oxide." A classic roof problem with a typical slopey topout is "Soap on a Rope", and "The Hobbit" is one of the best roof problems in the country. The roof problems on the Dugout boulder will get you grunting, and my favorite roof problem of all is the beautiful rail on "Spice Roof."
Visit Rocktown for a week or a year. You will never run out of projects or motivation.
